Booked a same day appointment online. Couldn't be seen until later in the day. Received confirmation email for the appointment and no other communication through out the day. Took sick time from work and drove in rush hour for the appointment. Was checked in for appointment and roomed. Sat in exam room for about 20 minutes then the person that checked us in said there was a "glitch in the system" and we couldn't be seen today. I stated that my dog was having bleeding post procedure and I had taken sick time from work to be there. The front desk person said no other locations could take me and they couldn't either and again tried to get me to reschedule for the next day like it was no big deal. This left me with driving 30 minutes across the metro in rush hour to go to an urgent care. I never leave bad reviews but the lack of accountability or empathy for the situation by staff was frankly enraging. I work in health care and know this situation would never have been dealt like this in that realm.

I haven’t always had perfect experiences with Banfield, but today the tech/assistant (not sure of their title exactly) Sam absolutely blew it out of the park. They were so kind and empathetic and I really felt taken care of by them. This was one of the worst days of my life and the compassion they showed made SUCH a big difference. I hope I’ll be taken care of by Sam the next time I visit banfield. Dr Vavilin was also super kind and very thoroughly explained everything to me, even buying me some more time with my girl. Thank you guys so much, you have no idea how much this means.

Right away this visit has been absolutely amazing. Everyone is super kind and such animal lovers. The payment plans and options are quite exceptional and amazing. I brought my to little baby kittens. Amazing place and if I could 6 stars I would.

The tech and vet were great. This is a dog that I adopted at age 10 and she has a lot of anxiety and the staff were amazing with her and were able to provide her safe efficient and caring service today and I am very appreciative

I have been a Banfield customer for over 12 years, relying on your clinics for all of my pets' healthcare needs. That trust ended when your team failed to properly diagnose my dog with lymphoma. Because of that oversight, his cancer has advanced to Stage 5, severely shortening his life. I am completely heartbroken that such precious time with him has been stolen. In October 2025, I brought my dog in specifically to address health concerns, including enlarged lymph nodes. A cytology was performed, but the attending doctor called to inform me the results were inconclusive. She verbally reassured me that because my dog seemed healthy and in good spirits, it was unlikely to be anything serious. She noted that while a biopsy was an option, she did not deem it necessary. I trusted her professional recommendation. Over the following months, my dog’s health steadily declined. He developed anemia, elevated liver enzymes, and sudden blindness. Each time I brought him in with these symptoms, I was repeatedly told it was just normal aging or nothing to worry about. The only external referral I received was to an ophthalmologist. When I took my dog to BluePearl Pet Hospital, the ophthalmologist immediately suspected lymphoma based on his condition. She ran blood work, expressed grave concern over the results, and instructed me to contact Banfield right away to discuss them. When I called Banfield per her instructions, I was told the doctor refused to speak with me about the lab results. Left with no other choice, I transferred my dog to a new veterinary clinic. During his very first examination, the new vet immediately identified Stage 5 lymphoma. They also explained that cytology reports often yield broken cells specifically because of how lymphoma affects tissue—a standard diagnostic reality the original Banfield doctor should have recognized as a clear signal to investigate further rather than dismiss the issue. To make an already devastating situation worse, when I attempted to cancel my dog’s Wellness Plan so I could pay for his care at a clinic that provides proper diligence, I was informed I would be charged over $900. Given the gross negligence and failure to diagnose my dog before his cancer reached Stage 5, holding me financial accountable is entirely unacceptable.
